Because there is so little piracy going on right now with Steam and EGS in place. I personally would switch to GoG completely, they do pretty much everything better than Steam and Epic combined except for the Steam Workshop, with the single problems that a lot of AAA-publishers avoid GoG for fear of piracy. Such a game isn't designed, developed, and tested in the about 3 years that the EGS has been anounced. And with all that, they still have the audacity of making thid-party-games exclusive to their broken piece of software that isn't even completely usable now.Īnd giving Epic credit for Half-Life: Alyx is ridiculous. This could literally mean anything from more content updates to a spin-off title or even additional KF franchise material in the future. The EGS came out and shit the bed at the starting gun: Broken, neigh unusable, missing such absolutely basic features like a shopping cart or customer reviews, some regions of the world can't even use it because their currency is not supported, servers crashing en masse. This should NOT, I repeat, NOT be considered an indicator that Killing Floor 3 has been confirmed nor announced. In fact I was positive about the EGS at first because of exactly that line of thought "Hey, maybe if Steam finally got some competition, they will improve their platform." And to be fair, they did a bit: Steam implemented a counter-measure to review-bombing (which took place on entire franchises on Steam if the newest entry became epic-exclusive) and then they noticed Epic didn't have much to offer and they stopped trying much. I hate how many low-quality asset-flips and hentai-"games" there are on Steam, how big of a share they take from the games sold, and how little quality-control there is for games in general. Believe me, I'm far from a Valve/Steam-fanboy.
